The 30 Days Blog Challenge, Day 29: Must Do, At Least for the Next 30 Days.

Day 29 – Goals for the next 30 days.

While I am working on some items on my 2012 goals, I really need to focus first on 3 things:

  1. Fitness. I’m tired of being reminded by my jeans/shorts/skirts/basically-bottoms of the love handles I have to break up with. I’m sick of wanting to have my back stretched out because of the discomfort that scolio brings . Aaand…I’m scared of telling my future kids to go in the living room and play video games instead of having me run play chase with them in the backyard. I wantneed to get serious with eating right and exercising consistently! So if you see me reaching for junk food or sweets, please be a friend and grab my hand away from them.
    My fit-spiration. Hey, I can dream, can't I?

The 30 Days Blog Challenge, Day 28: I Miss…

Day 28 – Something that you miss.

Libraries. I can remember recess and lunch times spent in  the school library during my pre-college years. First, I’d go straight to the section where the newly acquired books are displayed. Second, I’d search through the fiction shelves for interesting reads. Third, I’d find a spot where I can read my chosen book in peace. 🙂 Ilovebeing surrounded by books and silence. It makes me feel like I have my world, one where I happily do anything and everything I want at no cost. Although I haven’t checked around much, I wish there was a public library accessible for everyone. And by library, I mean one that has a variety of reading materials, not just specific to the Philippines.

CSA Makati's GS Library.

CSA Makati's GS Library. Wow, they have "He's Just Not That Into You"?!? I guess some Grade Schoolers have love problems.

The 30 Days Blog Challenge, Day 27: Follow through.

Day 27 – A problem that you have had.

I plan a lot, and I mean, A LOOOT!!! I plan my day/week/year, what I’m going to eat/do/see…basically just anything! Of course, I do acknowledge that not all of my plans will fall according to my will and I still embrace those sneaky, spontaneous moments. But for most part of my life, my plans are reminders of what my dreams are and what I would like to accomplish – a bucket list, if you will.

Right now, my life’s list of To Do’s is growing. I take a step back and see how much time has passed and just a few of them has been done. I realize that I don’t even make the baby steps I need to do to even TRY to carry out them. This is where my problem enters… I have a problem following through. 😦

The 30 Days Blog Challenge, Day 26: People I Like.

Day 26 – What kind of person attracts you.

People of different personalities, backgrounds, beliefs and whatever what-nots there is intrigue me. Although I’m not the friendliest person in the world (read: shy), I am drawn to people who are:

Compassionate.  My parents raised me with the belief that the best way to give thanks for all the blessings we have received is to give back to those who are in need. It doesn’t matter if you can only afford to give PhP10, a piece of bread or a prayer for the little kid begging in the streets. What matters is the act itself. To live in a world where most of us are jaded, those who still step outside their comfort zones to sincerely reach out are just topnotch in my list.

Appreciative.  Of anything and everything. With all the hustle and bustle of today’s times, we rarely get to take a step back and be at awe of the wonders, small or big, all around us – may it be the gentle breeze on usual hot days or the keychain brought by an officemate as a gift from a recent trip of his/hers. There seems to be a few people who are genuinely thankful or at least doesn’t automatically say thanks. And those few people are the ones I would like to be around with.

The 30 Days Blog Challenge, Day 25: You’re So Awesome, I Crush You!

Day 25 – Someone who fascinates you and why.

There’s this girl, let’s name her Ma. as in you-think-it’s-short-for-Maria-but-it-isn’t. 😛

Ma. is around my age. She’s pretty, friendly, funny and very talented. If we were to be put into Gossip Girl’s world, Ma. would be Serena van der Woodsen and I would be that girl in the background, staring in awe at her.In fact, in previous occasions, I have stared at her in awe. How could I not when she effortlessly lights up a room she’s in and makes everyone around her at ease? Okay… I am starting to sound like a stalker.

But seriously, Ma. is one of those few people you’d love to hate but you just couldn’t. I have seen her handle tricky and quite depressing situations with her head held up high. She has such strength in dealing with problems that most people would give up on in a second. I could also see how much she treasures her family and friends. Despite the physical distance, she has managed to keep her boyfriend/fiancée/hubby (I’m not leaving any specific clues!) loyal and madly in love with her.

One main thing that I really, really, REALLY get fascinated with is her independence. She has traveled around the globe on her own with her luggage pulled from behind and her smile that says, “Why, hello world! Here I am!”.

I wish I could write more about her; but the further I go, the more clues I leave about who my Serena van der Woodsen is. 😉
