A Birthday Wish for A Fairy.

To my dearest god-daughter, Patricia,

Happy birthday, puknooots! You’ve just turned 7 and I can’t help but wonder where the years went by. In those 7 years, you’ve brought our family such wonderful joy what with your witty comebacks and infectious laughter.

Flying to blow candles.

Backtrack: How I Spent My 27th.

Exactly at 12:01 AM of August 16, I turned 27. Yes, I am that old many (imagine me counting up to 27 with my fingers).Β  And exactly at that time I was asleep. πŸ˜› Who could blame me, what with all the food intake I had the day before?

I woke up at around 6-ish and literally rolled myself off the bed. Sleep was yummy, especially when I’m snuggling my life-size pillow (which is a gift from the boyf).

As I walked out the room to the hallway, I was greeted and hugged by my li’l bro who was rushing off to school. I didn’t get to take his pic but here’s how he looks like:

While waiting for my bath water to heat up, I checked the updates on my SNS sites. Read a touching FB birthday message from my current work girlfriend, Jan.

Something in the TV/Computer area caught my eye, which made me go near it ‘coz I wasn’t wearing eye glasses/contact lenses at that time.

After taking a bath and dressing up, I read up on today’s teaching and secret. πŸ˜›

Drove out of the garage and made my way to the office in McKinley.

Here I Go Again!

August is just around the corner and I’m EXCITED!!! I welcome August as if it’s a new year, which, technically for me, it is on the 16th. Apart from it being my birthday month, it’s also my dad’s, my older brother’s and sister’s (twins!) and my boyfriend’s. Plus, since I was a kid, I’ve experienced August as being jam packed with celebrations, activities and events. From my grade/high school alma mater, we had Friendship day, Linggo ng Wika, Sabayang Pagbigkas, Intramural Opening, St. Augustine’s day, a Augustinian father’s (Fr. Rodriguez or Fr. Manzano?) birthday and a few others I might have forgotten.:D

A few more weeks ’til I turn to the age of the only odd number I like and ’til my blog turns 1! I’m ready to enjoy this month! Of course, what would be more enjoyable for someone who would be celebrating her birthday than the possibility of gifts!!! Yes, here I go again with my birthday wish list! For friends who read my blog, here’s your chance to shop for my birthday gift without straining out your mind for ideas. πŸ˜›

Before I start, there’s actually one thing I would like to ask from my reader/s (I’m assuming it would be more than 1 :P) for my birthday that doesn’t involve wrapping it in sparkly/colorful paper. I ask that if you could, on my birthday, pray for my soon-to-be-6-y/o god daughter that she would be able to walk on her own. There has been complications during her birth that had affected the part of her brain that controls her ability to walk. I would like to see Tricia, my god daughter, run towards me to hug me when she visits us here at home. πŸ™‚

So on to the more ‘superficial’ stuff… πŸ˜›

To the man I look up to…

Happy, happy birthday to you, Papa!

Father goofing off.

Father goofing off.

Ever since I was a kid, I was told that my dad and I are alike. I thought that their observation flamed from the fact my dad and I were born on August (him on August 18; me on August 16) and are both Leos andΒ  year of the Rats.

Well, I can’t argue much. In a way, my dad and I ARE similar. We’re both quiet, observant and seemingly shy/snobbish. Speaking for myself, that’s initially how I am towards people I’ve just met or I’m not close to. I guess my dad’s that way too, because when he shares to me stories of his travel adventures, I am surprised at the strangers he had talked or mingled with. He tells me anecdotes and historical trivia about the different places he’s been to and the tips and tricks on how to navigate through the roads of some other foreign cities.

My dad’s a smart leader, a good businessman, a well-updated traveller and, most of all, a great father. He has instilled in me the importance of hard work, quiet persistence, determination in everything I do. I hope I can be as strong and will-powered as my dad is.

Papa, I pray for your good health, more business opportunities, more travels with the family and BETTER JOKES! Hahaha! Love you, Pa!

Macau.

Just because we wanted to be silly.
